Underneath is a PCB with several gold plated tracks. The ISO dial it’self has to be fitted after the top cover. It was manufactured by Msnual in Japan under licence to Zeiss.
Although there is some evidence that the original switch could fail, it wasn’t a common problem and the changes made might have been done as much for a manufacturing reason as for reliability. As long as you use the very thin tape not the thicker foam type the focus should be correct. With the ISO plate lifted, the switch, which is on the underside of the plate, can be dismantled. manua
Manuak NOT adjust the other screw as this changes the angle of the mirror. This page was last modified on 17 Decemberat To clean these off requires removing the prism. There were a mahual modifications made to the camera during the period it was manufactured. See where the rivet has finished up. When refitting the top cover, it doesn’t always fit in its proper position behind the two levers but instead gets caught up on top of them.
Another change that took place was to the transfer switch. The rubber insert on top of the lever is stuck on.

Transfer Switch The transfer switch is located under the cojtax plate. This is what it looks like with the mirror box in place. Underneath is a collet with a slotted top.
The bottom cover and the lens mount trim need to be removed to access it. Sure, I could have tried to re-sell it, with full conrax, but I didn’t really want to put a pile of crap back into circulation, and leave another collector disappointed. The cover needs to fit under the edge of the holder and the original covers were thinner so they could fit. Note the position of the rivet in the top blade of the curtain and compare it to the next image.
The ones that got away. The ISO dial itself rarely needs dismantling and is easily reassembled if you do.
The Contax cameras benefit from the first use of a quartz-timed, electronically-controlled, vertical metal shutters; the point being that shutter speeds were theoretically extremely accurate. Apply a piece of double sided sticky tape to the button, overlapping it onto the surrounding dial. When looking through the viewfinder, any specs of dust that are visible and are sharpley focussed are on the top of the screen or the underside of the prism. But the various plates that fit under the ISO dial are less intuitive to reassemble and, unless you take careful notes when removing them, you will likely not get them back in the correct position.
