The only reason that I am giving this book a star is because I happen to be a Zafon’s fan. The boy twin, Ben, is raised in an orphanage where our story resumes nearly 16 years later. The setting for the book is almost a character in and of itself as are several of the locations throughout, including mediamoche titular “Midnight Palace”. I was actually kind of angry by the end because I really wanted to like the book and find it creepy, like Prince of Mist.
