I don’t remember all about it, but what stands out in my memory is the humour, and the warmth of it. Each chapter starts a way back in a character’s life, and ends a little further forward in time than the previous one, so there’s a sense of moving forward as well as the ever-increasing knowledge of different people. Kathy’s story was okay, just not that engaging. She writes the type of book to re-read. I finished and reread the six books I had taken, then proceeded to raid my grandmother’s bookshelf. This is one of my favourite novels by Maeve Binchy. Each new chapter brought the beginning feelings of dread Maeve Binchy character connections.
Bincyh tend to go back again and again to my tried and true Binchy novels. Such a cosy heart warming story and the audio version read by Kate Binchy is as always superb.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. I did read Quentins years ago, but will do a re-read to post a review. I decided this year I will aim to at least post reviews for all of the books that I have read.
The setting is Ireland, as are pretty much all of her books, where several different characters from all walks of life come together to take an evening class in Italian. But, I was simply too exhausted and just let evenkng relax and enjoy the ride! It was about 2 o’clock in the morning when my eyes couldn’t recognise a single word. I though Lou was a jerk honestly when we find out what he was getting up to.
But I became impatient with the current characters stories having to stop in order to allow the introduction of the new characters.
An OTP has been sent to your email address. Yet, by the end of the book she has altered the lives of many around her and has herself become a stronger personality. Overall, nice light read if you are just looking for some fluff to kill some time. Having grown up in Dublin, Binchy paints the scenes with the clarity of personal knowledge so that they spring from the page in all their varying colours and shapes. I do not understand the appeal of this writing at all. Binchy somehow casts a storytelling spell on the reader, so you page-turn once, then again, and again.
Per usual I think my favorite sections to read about were Aiden, Signora, and Connie.
In between allowing these 8 people to tell there own life story and how they ended up in that class, Maeve Binchy gives us glimpses of a lovely romance blooming between Aidan and Signora Thirty students gather and become deeply involved in each other’s lives.

Evening Class is a beautiful book filled with true-to-life characters, like only Maeve Binchy can create. The key to their success lies with the Signora. In a Dickensian way, they bump into each other and are affected by the mqeve of those around them.
